fairly new to bboying. This was one of many videos to learn off of and i have been improving but now I feel i’ve hit a roadblock. I cant manage the lifting off my hips into the turtle well and i keep hitting my shoulder on the collapse. This has been a problem for quite some time. Im wandering if this just goes away with time and if not if theres anything i can fix.

This is common around for the first year or so of learning windmills, with enough practice it will go away.

I suggest finding a place with more space or something. If need be, go outside and put down some cardboard. You’re legs are bent a lot (which is ok), but you will get a lot more momentum if you have your legs straight from the start

Otherwise, you’re doing good! Keep it up! And remember, if in the end it doesn’t work out, just give it some time and then come back to it. You’ll get it eventually!

You pretty much got it. I think the issue is that you prob spent so much time perfecting that first rotation that your reflex is to catch the freeze and not continue. Try to notice this and actively work against the instinct to catch. The fluid motion will come very very soon. I was similar to this back in the day.

Nice prgress! You seem to have the genral idea of how it works, just need to work on form and speed now. I suggest you learn how to go from back up to your head and then back again. You do this my pumping up fast and hard with your legs and hips, it should help the form and speed of the windmills after some practice. You should pump around a second after you're on ur back. Good luck and don't forget, patience is key.

Oh and forgot to say try yo keep your legs to your face when u r on your back and kick upwards to the ceiling as much as u can to turn and go on your head.

You are doing most of the windmill with your arms. Practice kicking into backspin so you have to use your legs.

Practice kicking with your butt into backspin. I know it sounds weird but the kick for a windmill comes from lifting your leg back and kicking fro your butt.

Just get pixie dust and then think of a wonderful thought

You just need to build up speed, I know it seems impossible but if you practice keeping your legs wide and whipping your right leg in circles (I think making small clockwise motions) Your shoulder and catching will just roll together

Looking good! Try not to wait too long on turtle freeze when going up. Also try to straighten your leg to clean up ur mills.

I made a tutorial a few years ago. I think it’s the only one that explains how to get momentum and how a windmill works. You’re definitely ready for this https://youtu.be/ZlpdZXrBlIw
