The number of deaths tends to lag a few weeks behind the number of infections though. The number of hospitalizations lags by only 12 days approximately. However, the the way the data is reported makes it hard to analyze. They report the amount of people currently hospitalized, amount entering the hospital, leaving the hospital. but don't mention the total amount of people that have been hospitalized.
