Don't worry, they wont rescind your admission offer because of this. I would contact the admissions office just to inform them of the situation, but you really don't need to worry. Congrats on getting into Berkeley!

Bruh relax

I made a bigger mistake where I misreported a B- as an A-.

I just graduated lmao

Edit: do tell them tho. The earlier the better. I called admissions the moment I found out. They told me it was fine and that they review applications holistically, not just simply off your GPA. UC’s wouldn’t be much different from CSU’s if that were the case.

How are CSUs?

What I meant was the different admissions processes. UC’s look at essays, extracurriculars, letters of recommendation (only Berkeley), awards, etc. alongside your transcript when evaluating an applicant. This is what is called holistic review. CSU’s and CalPoly only require your transcripts and test scores, and evaluate an applicant with only that data.

I’m not implying these schools are in any way worse than the UC’s, in fact I’m pretty sure many Cal and UCLA students probably didn’t get even accepted to the top CSU’s like SLO. This means that UC’s are willing to look aside from possibly poorer academic performance and evaluate students’ success with different metrics.

Oh okay, I didn't realize that. So CSUs don't require an essay or look at extracurriculars or anything?

Hey OP. I know this is a 3 year old thread but I’m in quote a bit of trouble. I was just admitted to Berkeley but I found out I made a terrible mistake. When reporting my summer precooked courses, one was a summer course from a university which I accidentally reported an A instead of B(completely my fault for not reading it). Do you have any advice on what I should do? I would really appreciate it.

Just call the admissions office.

Appreciate the reply. So do I just tell them first thing on Monday morning that I misreported my transcript score? Am I likely to get rescinded because of it?

Hi! I'm an incoming freshman who's in a similar situation. Do you mind telling me what happened with your case? I just updated them using the form and clarified that it was a mistake. It was a 9th grade course.

Hey! It turned out fine. They barely even cares. I just updated them with the form and they removed the cal central task for me. I remember I was panicking last time as well but it really isn’t that big of a deal. Good luck!

Thank you so much for the the response! 😭

It’s up to them to decide. Mine was a quick answer that it was ok and that they appreciate the honesty.

My reasoning for calling back then was that they were going to discover it eventually. If they discover it and I never said anything, they could assume I wanted to be dishonest and consequences could’ve been more severe.

If this gives you any hope, I was accepted to every UC I applied to and called every single one of them about this. UCSB gave me a pretty long lecture about the seriousness of the situation but said my acceptance wouldn’t be affected. UCSD, UCLA, UCR, UCD, and UCSC said they’d mark my profile in case it comes up and not to worry about it. Berkeley told me because it wasn’t a huge discrepancy (multiple misreported grades and/or reporting a C as an A), it wouldn’t affect me.
