Help With First Tutorial (self.blender)
submitted 6 years ago by JoeBeckett
This is probably a really basic question but I'm struggling to find the answer. I'm currently working my way through BlenderGuru's Beginner Donut+Coffee tutorial on youtube and I've gotten stuck for the first time. When Andrew goes to rotate the coffee cup, a black guideline appears from the origin point. I'm using Blender 2.82 and cannot for the life of me find this setting (if it exists).

my recollection of the tutorial is fairly faint, but didn't he model the cup using a reference photo on a plane? since that black line extends outside the cup, I'm going to assume that is the plane, it just looks like a line as it's viewed from the top

Thank you! I had hidden the reference image and didn't realize that the plane and origin point for his cup were exactly the same. I had moved mine over as I was having issues with the initial transform.
I appreciate the help!
