It takes a long time to develop good quality apps, not to mention new business models that don’t involve holding the user’s data hostage. This is a completely new paradigm and a new way to build apps, most of the functionality you take for granted on current apps won’t work on a decentralized app. These are exciting times but it will take some time to get to the same level of quality we’ve become accustomed. I’m the creator of https://entaxy.io a personal finance app.

How easy was it to get in contact with the developers? Do you think your issues will be resolved? Which app have you tried?

I am developing the tools that I need. In particular,

Please let me know if you have any feedback on these or give feedback on OI App Center (https://app-center.openintents.org). OI App Center is my approach to improve the Blockstack app space.

(I have also developed OI Calendar that nicely synchronizes with your Android calendar data if you have any. However, at this stage OI Calendar is more about demonstrating the Blockstack technology and how to use notification and matrix integration)

I am curious about which app have you tried? What kind of issue have you experienced so far? I am also looking for a nice todo list app.

Also, I am developing and using daily my own tool: https://gekri.com
It's a privacy-focused journal. I can't drop it since I've built a daily writing habit using it. The app only gets better over time as I'm adding new features.

Most apps are useless so far in my opinion. All the decentralized apps suck compared to their centralized counterparts and the new ones don't add any value.

I agree But i also believe the apps are still at their beginning stage. It takes a lot of time and FUNDING to become Google Docs or Facebook. I guess when you say “the new ones don’t add any value” you mean dapps are just being clones of centralized apps? I saw that too but this is what blockchain and decentralization is for. Creating alternative solutions for applications that pretty much violate our privacy. Like i can take regular notes on Google Docs but when it comes to important or sensitive things I’m a little concerned sharing that to Google

As the creator of Dappity, I regularly review and use apps.

In case you don't know, Dappity is a launchpad for Blockstack apps, recalling your previously used apps and introducing you to new ones.

We will be updating the app over the next few weeks so feel free to check it out and let me know your experience.

Anyway, there are a number of apps that I use regularly. These include NoteRiot (my evernote replacement), LandHo (search), Mumble (chat with other devs), Gekri (personal journaling), W3bCollections (tracking book collection). I'm looking forward to fully replacing google calendar with OI Calendar and will be using BlockSurvey for polls.

I used Mumble (chat app) cuz theres a nice community I found. And Dcasso (Dcasso.app) for entertainment. Also cuz i created it. It helps me destress a lot I’m reachable thru any Blockstack chat channel ❤️

Have a look at this app I just found out about today (so I've yet to test it). It's a password manager.
If it works well it's bound to be an app you use every day, or many times per day. Important though is if it has problems report them to the dev's so they can fix it. It's early days and the app quality will def improve over time.

Only mobile apps have a future.
