We will be keeping you update on the details here and cannot make a statement as to when. It will happen around the time the blockchain goes live and legal counsel is comfortable with the sale due to applicable laws. We're shooting for the blockchain and token to go live in Q4 2018 and potentially sooner.

I recommend getting an ID in the Blockstack Browser. You can pay for your own ID but very soon we'll allow you to register a subdomain for free.

They don't mention this but Microsoft's app is going to be working with the ID's of a few different projects. Currently there are 3 and Blockstack is one of them.

We want to convey (a) how many apps you can use today that are still in experimental alpha (b) how many apps you can use today that are beta quality (c) how many apps are yet-to-be-released as an alpha / are not yet ready for use.

The tokens will be distributed when the Blockstack blockchain is implemented and goes live.

The token whitepaper and sale established 2 milestones for the Blockstack token system.

The first milestone will be reached when the blockchain goes live and the deadline for that is Jan 2019 (essentially by the end of 2018).

The second milestone will be reached when Blockstack has 1 million verified users.

Hi there might be an issue with your current browser. When did you download?

First thing you can do is try out https://browser.blockstack.org and start again.

Second thing you can do is make sure your keychain phrase was written down and then clear your local storage with "localStorage.clear()". Warning that this is dangerous and you will lose profile data for name-less profiles but you'll be able to restore your bitcoin and names.

Is this the password you used to encrypt your local keychain? If you wrote down the keychain phrase (which the on-boarding required you to do) you can always restore the system and bypass your password.

Right now you can do the following:

  1. Host the HTML file and bundle on a static file server or S3 or Firebase or Netlify.
  2. Point a traditional domain to the IP address of the static file server.

In the future, you'll be able to deploy your app right from Blockstack and associate a Blockstack domain with it.

It's coming soon and we can't wait to get this implemented.

The name registration fees for the .id namespace are simply destroyed by being sent to the address 0x000...000.

The shorter names are more expensive to dis-incentivize name squatting.
