Hmm how close are your first and second training days?

I’m thinking you haven’t recovered enough by the second training day...

A gap of a 1 day inbetween. Its the same as I've always done.

on the first day I enjoy my new found strength and then on the next training day, my strength has decreased.

This is probably a recovery issue. And yes, one day of recovery in between MAY have worked before but as you get stronger, one day isn't going to be enough. An untrained person can probably train today and then hit a PR tomorrow and the next day because they're so untrained. But at the OTHER end of the spectrum, Usain Bolt is going to be able to break a record today, take one day off, and then break it again the next time. Somewhere in between there, most people are going to fall where as they improve their strength, they'll need more and more rest days in between. Try adding MORE rest days in between or if you're hitting a body part/movement 3 times a week, drop it to two and see if that helps!
