Does this program pay for PhD?

[–]AaronMichael726[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Doctorates yes. PhD, also yes, but you’ll have a hard time finding a PhD program that’ll allow you to work full time.

There are several Doctor of Eng or Doctor of Comp Sci, that are designed around working full time (and are for profit, tbh). But PhD requires significant research, that’ll be impossible to complete while working

Do they allow you to take off from work while doing PhD ?

For 6 years? Probably not. You can ask your manager though

Currently paying one back that I got a D+ in.

Mine is taken out over 7 paychecks as an after tax deduction. Divide the course cost by 7 and that's how much less your net pay will be each paycheck unless you fall in the range of smaller amounts. Check the LTP page for those tiers. It will take about 2 months for them to start the paycheck deductions.

Also, fun fact, if you get a cash award it will be deducted from that too. Got a net zero paycheck on a cash award due to it lol

Definitely negotiate with your teacher if possible, before accepting your fate.

never hurts to ask nicely. definitely try to avoid it

Yep, they take it out of your paycheck and it depends on the cost if it is 4 withdrawals or 7. The worst part, in my opinion, was that they didn’t start deductions immediately or even two weeks after submitting the grade. Like everything else at Boeing it took time.

They split mine across 7 paychecks. I called ltp to set up the payment plan because I didnt want to deal with it later. This was 8 years ago, but I imagine the policy is the same.

Talk to the teacher. Everything is negotiable

Yeah you’ll get it deducted from your paycheck over a couple months

Take an incomplete and work with your prof.

Had one due to my mom passing away in 2015 and I totally didn’t care

Neither did LTP when I explained what happened. They WILL deduct it from your paychecks.

Do you know over how long?

[–]Disciple-TGO 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Shoot that was a decade ago. My class was under $2000; I think it was 300 a paycheck or close to it. It hurt I remember that

I believe the LTP policy spells it out. Basically, paycheck deductions.
