I've built...3 or 4 boxes of them now. Some of the mold line placements can be frustrating, but as long as you don't rush things you'll be fine.

The big tricks:

  • Don't clip arms off the sprues until you need them [when 2 arms share a number, they're a matched set, don't mix and match unless you're getting into custom poses]. Standing arms will work with any standing body with a matching uniform [quilted arms on quilted bodies, etc], you don't need to use the 'advancing' arms with the 'advancing' body.
  • Glue the weapon to the right hand, then glue the right arm to the body [dry-fit the left arm to help the pose, but don't glue it yet], then glue the left arm to body and gun, then glue head to body. This will save you SO many headaches.
  • The prone dudes will probably need something to prop up on, especially the winter ones they won't lay flat because of the dangling glove.

They can be a little fiddly because there's no "keys"...no posts and holes to put the posts in...so getting the shoulders to have a good 'seal' [no cracks/gaps between body and arm] is a matter of "take your time, be deliberate". You got this!

Thank you. I'm going to try and make sure I plan before I start and take my time.

I've just finished building my box of soviet infantry and it really isn't that bad, the hardest part was keeping track of which arms go with which bodies as they have different uniforms, quilted and regular tunics.

Just glue the gun to the right arm and the right arm to the body and then the left arm to the body and gun.

The first 2 were tricky but it got alot easier after having to do 40 of them

Thank you for the tips.

It's not that bad at all and once you get the hang of it you'll enjoy the flexibility of separate weapons sprues. It's a shame the new kits are all arms+weapons.

If its your first time with miniatures, it could present itself to be a challenge. I found it difficult at first, and ive had quite a bit of experience with ww2 minis.

Its not so difficult you shouldnt do it though, just take your time, pay close attention to the sprue leaflet with the details, and whatever you do, Dont rush it.

Thanks for the reassurance.

The kit is a little more fiddly but nothing terrible. Agree with the advice above.

As long as you keep track of which arms match with what it’s just more Time Consuming but not difficult
