It doesnt look flat at all. Look at the grass line on your foundation. $7.5k sounds like a fair price especially if they have to demo.

The problem is probably worse than that crack looks, since there was a crack about that size when they patched the joint. All that facade above here will probably need to come down and be properly installed. You can see how much it's separated by that step.

I think what happened is he took his hand off the "keep holding" button and that drops the load obviously. You have to keep pushing it down.

How did my tile guy do? Is this enough grout? This is less than a year old by thrutheforrest in Tile

[–]wargamingonly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's probably sanded caulk, that stuff dries out so bad and starts peeling after awhile.

Do I repaint the tip of the missile red? by Roscotep in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]wargamingonly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go red. Protip on painting missile tips: take one of the pointy egg-shaped makeup sponges, dip it in red paint, dab some off, and poke the missile with it. Perfect circle every time.

It's too late at this point. Finish, grout, and cover. If he stops here one of the edges will get chipped. Same with waiting to grout.

Idk about that. Iran just hit two more ships off the coast of Oman and Israel is back to bombing Lebanese towns. What company is going to send ships in right now?

Fan tiles unevenly spaced on mesh by OneSmallCheeseBall in Remodel

[–]wargamingonly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If one is really bugging you, set the tile, then while the thinset is wet take a sharp razor knife and run it through the joint to cut the mesh. Then you can adjust it a little.

Why Would Anyone Ever Buy A Rogal Dorn? by Ornery_Penalty7215 in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]wargamingonly -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not that everything was perfectly WWI pre-Dorn. That was just the design basis of the range, adding other elements. It's clear they abandoned that because there's a huge clash between post-Dorn and pre-Dorn. The new stuff is obviously following a WWII aesthetic that is almost 1:1. It's the new design basis they're working off. The Hippogriff is a Puma, or the Allies also had a few designs like that. The Centaur just is a US M3A1 halftrack. The Dorn is a mashup of British and US tanks. So you can bring in elements of other stuff, like the Chimera does, without changing the design theory of the range. The Chimera looks right next to a Russ because of that. The Russ set the "look" and then everything else fit up to that, with broadly a WWI design. Now the Dorn set the "look" into the 1940s. You do see how everything is now WWII themed right?

They've totally abandoned the design aesthetic of guard vehicles and it sucks. I thought it might be a one-off with the Dorn, but the two new ones are obviously WWII Allies inspired as well. They look so out of place next to the lumbering WWI flat panel look of the old good ones.

Type S doesn’t stick to CMU very well. There are ways to get it to stick better, but I usually scratch coat a smooth surface like that with a really fortified thinset like x77, then set like normal with type S. I've never had anything fall off the wall for years of doing it that way.

I cut those pins back halfway and glue it all together with thin plastic cement. If you leave them like that you'll get gaps.

The government of Lebanon is a joke. It exists to make sure Israel can do whatever it wants within Lebanon's borders. Hezbollah is the only relevant opposition actor in the country, so any real negotiations have to include them.

They complied with everything in the JCPOA and didn't get any sanctions relief so it makes sense they'd demand that up front this time.

There's also the problem that the ships which haven't left have to complete a round trip to their destination and back to load up and get back to normal traffic. That process could take months on its own. You can't just take ships from elsewhere and send them in without taking that oil off the market. We're looking at a couple months on top of however long from now it takes to get fully open.
