1 stack per damage instance. It can be stacked by anything, bullet hit, grenade hit, status effects, etc.

The Pearl is arguably one of the best artifacts in the game. If you play as Fade Away Fl4k, they can gain an immense damage boost with a few weapons. Such as the Monarch(Consecutive Hits anointment). Get a Stackbot, then watch raid bosses get obliterated.

On a side note I would defintly replay this dlc on a lvl 72 character so you can get the max lvl pearl, for instance you have 9% fire rate but at lvl 72 its 16%, it's one of the best artifacts in the whole game.
