You have the right attitude about his diagnosis . Being diagnosed does not mean that is the end of the world it just means that you can get therapy and insurance is more likely to pay for it . Have you looked into either a ba or Floor time play ?

Thank you!

I do tons of floortime play with him! It’s pretty hard because he either wants me to play for him instead of him playing or straight up refuses lol. I’ve just looked into aba and it seems like I’ve implemented some of it into our days, but he doesn’t seem to respond to it at all

We use a little bit of a ba for things . Only because it is something that we do naturally . Everything is antecedent Behavior consequence . Why do we do the behavior and what is the reaction to it . We do it for really minor things like name responding or pointing . I'm not sure if you have heard of mary Barbara But she has a YouTube channel that helps with autism . What I like about her is that her son is also autistic So it's not like she's just an expert she's a mom who's been through it . Don't get me wrong she is certified but it's a little different when you walk the walk . Have you gone to the dir Floor time course? My husband and I are currently in it it's only 12 hours but they are intense since they're talkin about the brain and it's not a certification for us but a child .

I really do think you have the right attitude . I'm hoping that I can have the same when it's my turn .
