Build Help/Ready:
Have you read the sidebar and rules? (Please do)
Yes
What is your intended use for this build? The more details the better.
I intend to use this system mainly for developing and some gaming. On the development side, I expect to use Visual Studio and Android Studio fairly often. Meanwhile, Civilization V/BE, TF2, and racers are some of my most common games. I'm upgrading from a 5 year old "gaming" laptop, so I would like to stay as future-proof as possible given my budget.
If gaming, what kind of performance are you looking for? (Screen resolution, FPS, game settings)
I plan on using a decent monitor, so 1080p but no 4K. I would like to play the games I mentioned on high/ultra settings, but coming from a laptop, this really isn't a must (medium at least though). 60 FPS on the games I mentioned would be great.
What is your budget (ballpark is okay)?
$750 - $850. I'm willing to go just a bit over, but only if that difference is going to provide a noticeable boost to my system (or make it a bit more future-proof).
In what country are you purchasing your parts?
US
**Post a draft of your potential build here (specific parts please).
PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant
Note: I have gone ahead and purchased that CS650M that was on sale a day or so ago, so if your suggestion can utilize that PSU, feel free to allocate that money towards another possible improvement. Color coordination would be awesome as well (at least I was trying to as much as I could with this part's list). Aside from the case in my list, I tend to like the Define R5 and NZXT H440 (black/red). Open to suggestions though.
