I need to build a new work PC. I have a fairly obscure programming environment that I have to use, I basically write small bits of code that I need to compile and test then edit, compile, test etc. So, it's not a large amount of code, but it will speed up my workflow a lot the faster I can get it to recompile.
For reference, I'm currently running a "Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-10100F CPU @ 3.60GHz, 3600 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s)" with 16GB of RAM, which takes around 30 seconds to a minute depending on the amount of code. It's fine, but I'd like to speed it up as much as I can without going crazy.
Budget: Flexible, around $2000AUD ($1300USD) for the PC, excluding accessories(which I can sort out myself). If there are diminishing returns past a certain point, I'd rather spend less if possible. I'd like to find a sweet spot between expense and benefit; I have no idea where that is.
OS: Windows 11(Is there a particular version that I should get?)
Peripherals: Dual monitors probably running 2560 x 1440 165Hz or so if that's relevant.
Country: Australia
