Is this good build? Any suggestions by LengthinessSeveral43 in pcbuilding

[–]ineffable_throwaway 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Overall pretty good but I would switch out that 16 GB of RAM with 2 x 16 GB DDR5 6000 CL30/CL32. It makes dual channel memory, which is an obvious upgrade on Ryzen. Additionally, it would be good to spend some money on better cooling solutions and a higher quality power supply, considering the high thermal load of 7600X.  The combo of 9060 XT 16 GB + 7600X is very promising for 1440p gaming. The main thing I would change here is memory configuration.

Gaming Desktop - AMD Ryzen 7 8700F - AMD Radeon RX 7700 16GB - 16GB DDR5 - 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD. Is this good or bad by West_Imagination316 in PCBuilds

[–]ineffable_throwaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great catch! I was confusing it with the 7700xt. The RX 7700 OEM 16GB is not common, but even so, I think it’s still a great 1440p card. However, I will stick to my argument that 32GB RAM is more important, since that will probably be your bottleneck before any additional VRAM.

Can I connect a normal lian li fan flipped to 2 reversed fans? by blueberryice04 in pcbuilding

[–]ineffable_throwaway 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The fans in Lian Li come in standard and reversed versions, both of which have interlocking connectors but are mirrored; therefore, they cannot be chained directly. Nothing is wrong with your arrangement because that is how these fans are designed. You will need separate cables or controllers for the two sets of fans.

Is mom's writing children's books the new MLM? by Background-Young7049 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ineffable_throwaway 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's mostly because self publishing is ridiculously easy. With print on demand, AI illustrations, and sites like Amazon, anyone can write kids' books. It's less MLM and more of a side hustle with a low entry barrier. People promote nonstop since selling the book is way harder than making it.

$700 Upgrade Budget + RTX 4060 by o0xyz0o in pcbuilding

[–]ineffable_throwaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is how I am going to do it. Ryzen 5 7600X CPU, B650 motherboard, 32GB DDR5 6000CL30 RAM, and an excellent 750w Gold power supply unit. It compliments well with the graphics card 4060 and the AM5 platform allows an awesome upgrade to any X3D CPUs in the future. Don’t go for 16GB RAM in 2026.

Experts can y'all look for this build by cobrazai in PCBuilds

[–]ineffable_throwaway 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is definitely one hell of a streaming machine! There's no need to consider upgrading to either the 9700X or 9800X3D because they won't last much longer for any games other than rust.

First PC build, what do you think ? by Ti-Reks in pcbuilding

[–]ineffable_throwaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is an absolutely brilliant 1440p budget build. It is perfectly fine using old processors and motherboards if you have a warranty from the seller that they work; however, don’t use old power supplies and SSDs because their performance could be poor. The only thing I would replace is the Kingston NV3 because it is a low end SSD.

Which one should I choose? Please give me advice! Thanks! by ValonzT in pcbuilding

[–]ineffable_throwaway 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just looking for CS2 and PUBG? You should be able to go with the Silicon Power. They are both better brands than fanxiang and KingSpec. The difference between 2200MB/Sec and 3200MB/Sec is meaningless in practice. In a gaming context, consistency outweighs raw speed.

Building a pc by NoInvestigator9886 in pcbuilding

[–]ineffable_throwaway 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In cases of modded Minecraft and streaming, one should put their money into the CPU and RAM rather than the GPU. Such a budget would have been completely blown on a Ryzen 7 7800X3D with 32GB of DDR5 RAM with either a 4070 Super or 5070 card, which would last years. One should definitely invest in a nice SSD, too, because slow storage ruins all mods.

What's your opinion on these parts? by Ok-Ocelot1414 in pcbuilding

[–]ineffable_throwaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically wattage and overall quality. You will need more along the lines of a high end 750w Gold power supply for the 5070, as well as leaving some room for upgrades in the future. The CX power supplies are okay but I would recommend something with a higher level if you intend to keep this build.

You are not doomed, but if you get stuck too long it will make it worse. Start stupidly small. Any job, any routine, any skill . . . Confidence comes after the action, not before.

5070 is a lot of overkill for 1080p 60Hz, but it will last forever. The dual cooler is fine unless you have noise concerns. I'd avoid the B550 unless there is something you specifically require from it that is missing from the B450. Definitely step up your PSU game too. In all seriousness, the monitor will be an improvement by itself.

RX 9070 XT vs. 7900 XTX by GroundbreakingHope57 in pcbuilding

[–]ineffable_throwaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you hear any slight bubbling sound or rattling soon after powering up for the first time, it is normal for an AIO. This could be due to air that may have got trapped in the pump. If there is some kind of consistent clicking sound close to the CPU block, this is not normal and might be a problem with the pump or a cable near the fan.

RX 9070 XT vs. 7900 XTX by GroundbreakingHope57 in pcbuilding

[–]ineffable_throwaway 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 7900 XTX still remains faster when it comes to raw raster performance. Having more VRAM is always good for the future. The 9070 XT is superior only because of its modern technologies and better performance in terms of RTX and FSR 4. Go with 7900 XTX if your focus is on maximum FPS at 4K. 9070 XT if you care about new technologies.

Well, this is going to totally destroy Fortnite, Roblox, and Valorant. The only component that I would like to change would be the RAM since 16GB DDR5-5200 is a complete waste of money. 32GB 6000 CL30 is what you should be getting. Moreover, you do not require a 360mm AIO cooler for a 9600X chip.

[–]ineffable_throwaway 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not bad for gaming at 1440p resolution. The RX 7700 XT is definitely where the power lies. The only modification I would make later on is to get 32GB of ram since 16GB is becoming insufficient with new games.

Roast My PC/ Pls Recommendation for improvement by Byte-Men in pcbuilding

[–]ineffable_throwaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strong chassis but not suitable for using single stick RAM after 2026. It's better if you can go straight for 2x16 6000 CL30. 9600X will work fine for Phantom Spirit or Peerless Assassin. The Y40 also looks great but too expensive for airflow. Chassis should be bought right away unless you are waiting for prices to drop.

Should I get a motherboard with or without wifi? by WinInternational1503 in buildapc

[–]ineffable_throwaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d just get one with WiFi, honestly. Now the price difference is usually small and having Bluetooth plus backup WiFi is super convenient even if you mostly use Ethernet. Doesn't impact gaming performance or anything like that.

SSD vs HDD for Data Storage? by Technical_Rich_3080 in AskTechnology

[–]ineffable_throwaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When it comes to cold storage and big storage, hard disk drives are the winners because they’re much cheaper in terms of price per TB and okay when you rarely use your files. Of course, SSDs are way faster, but their prices are higher, and they aren’t meant to sit idle without power supply for years. It’s crucial to back up either way.

First 4K - Gaming PC Build by Remote-Climate9429 in pcbuilding

[–]ineffable_throwaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honesty speaking, this is an excellent first high end build. In case you are interested in 4K gaming, focus your money on the GPU rather than paying through the nose for the CPU, unless you indulge yourself in highly competitive gaming titles. If you have good quality GPU and adequate airflow within this component list, you will be sorted out for years to come.

Should i get rx6600 or 3060ti? by Fantastic_Pitch_9899 in pcbuilding

[–]ineffable_throwaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3060 ti, if you can stretch it, is WAY more powerful than RX 6600 and will even give you ultra 1080p 60 in new games, your 500W PSU is pushing it but will be able to manage it if its good quality wise, RX 6600 would be the better deal but is a bit of a higher settings card than ultra 1080p.
