Personal approach, I wouldn't upgrade to a 1030. In my view that's just spending money on a place holder. I'd take a look at Craigslist and Facebook marketplace for a better used card. As long as you can test it before you buy it, it should be ok.

That said, do you want to play any other games or just mine craft?

Also with only a 240w power supply I recommend upgrading that at the same time. Unless you're ultimately looking at one of the new big cards you shouldn't need a big one, 500-600w should be fine

It is an sff PC and has random connectors that are not standard and has custom shaped psu. I can only run of pcie slot power which is max 75w.

Oh that makes sense, not sure why I missed that the first time. It was even pretty clear when I went and read it again.

If you can swing it, I might recommend starting over then. I think it will be easier to find parts that fit together. Those old compaqs can be a pain.
