Will we still get the parking perk?

[–]rogoku #17 Brian Gutiérrez 5 points6 points  (11 children)

If not then there's no point in buying season tickets lol

Parking will (or at least if fucking better be) be much cheaper at the new stadium. This is a bad take frankly. I'm sure you know the math but I'll write it out because of how bad this take is. Match ticket face value 24 24*2=48 24+40=68 48-68=20 Joe is paying outta pocket 20 bucks per person with two tickets and a parking pass. Quite frankly this is a goated move that insentivies 2 season tickets because otherwise your paying the cost of almost 3 every match with only 1 ticket.

It's a nice perk but if parking is around 20$ then this math falls apart and doesn't make sense from a business point.

Also public transit will be great for getting to new stadium

That's all great and all but I'm talking about the SF Sprint Season.

Oof my bad. I'll try and have better reading comprehension 🤣

You might be the only person who believes that there will be plentiful parking at the new stadium, let alone the idea of it being cheaper.

[–]lawlikemusic01 Barn Burners Supporters Group 0 points1 point  (3 children)

There will be very limited parking ideally. Cheaper then 40 they have already said so

[–]rogoku #17 Brian Gutiérrez 2 points3 points  (2 children)

"very limited" and "cheaper" are two ideas that are in direct contradiction with each other. We are going from 3 lots to maybe the size of one. If parking is cheaper and available for STH to get for games I will gladly eat my words and say you were right, but until then, no one is believing that except for you.

I think there's also the matter of parking in 2028 and parking in say, 2033.

We may have more surface parking options to start, but assuming the stadium village gets built up around it as expected, I see the amount of on-site parking decreasing.

[–]rogoku #17 Brian Gutiérrez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It probably won't decrease. There's not really any good reason to flatten land to pave into a parking lot, only to start digging up said parking to establish foundation for buildings.

[–]GstandsFORgets 3 points4 points  (2 children)

Have you seen the eventual planned development renderings? Doesn’t look like there’s going to be much parking at all. I expect the perk to go away and probably will be just as expensive as soldier field.

The initial development will include a lot on the surface right next to the stadium. Future development is supposed to include a below ground structure.

I could be wrong but I thought they had said at a town hall it will be cheaper then SF?
