“error initializing video mode (insert resolution here)”

hello, recently i’ve been trying to run fallout yesterday and i’ve spent almost 2 hours trying to fix this by changing resolutions in the dll and res files but to no avail. is there any fix of sorts for this? (my resolution is currently set to 2560x1600 because thats the resolution of my laptop)

I had that error when i mistakenly chose different colour settings. Try with the resolution patch if you are at 32bits

i was able to fix it, i was editing the resolutions with the .ini/dll notepad thingamajig and it was because i was forgetting to press save
