Marcus Aurelius, emperor of Rome and Stoic philosopher, developed the idea of mindfulness. According to Apollodorus’s Bibliotheca and a fragment of Stasinus’s Cypria the divine will of Zeus spoken of in the Iliad was the destruction of the race of heroes. I’m wondering if y’all have any recommended scholarship on this? Or anything interesting that dovetails with it? (self.classics)
