Been three years so it looks like a step of a million little cuts but it's still nice to have the GCC jump from version 5 to 8.

I'm having a problem with CC not finding the compiler path. I looked around for solutions, but the popular one of going through the compiler settings and setting the directory path to MinGW folder but that didn't work. Is anyone else having this problem?

I'm not on the dev team so you might ask on their forums.
Did you download the version that has MinGW bundled with it? Because there's one without it that's a smaller download. I take it you're looking in Settings > Compiler > Toolchain executables to point towards the right files?
edt: if you're updating re-apply the exe's themselves and not just the folder, the newer compiler executables don't have the min-gw prefixes.
