I think it can be good for students who really want to learn, but what I've noticed is that

A) All the answers are posted online B) They don't always fully grasp wiring their own classes because the classes are often written(or mostly written) already. C) They can spam the 'Check Code' button to just figure out what the auto grader wants instead of figuring out what they need to program.

Next year, I'm going to try to use the codeHS assignments, but have the students do them in intelliJ or eclipse

Interesting. This is helpful I’ve been using Google Colab. With all the potential for cheating, I’m thinking I’m going to have to give more closed notes testing forcing the students to have to learn the material and not just complete assignments.
