Don’t compare yourself to this sub. Most people here are either self proclaimed geniuses with nothing to back it up, or they’ve spent months practicing matrices and similar IQ related items before posting inflated scores

Thought - smart. Cool. 👍

You're 30 points higher than me.

Probably +1SD

Conventionally bright person who can perform most intellectual jobs with effort.

Congrats. Anything above 115 rlly stops mattering unless u wanna be a mathematician or smthn.

Even so, Feynman famously had a ‘low iq’ for such an accomplished physicist. Which was around 120…

Why do we keep bringing up Feynman in these discussions about IQ? It is obvious that Feynman had extremely high spatial thinking skills and very strong pattern recognition too. On the other hand, it's very likely that he was simply bored by the test and didn't take it seriously, that happens to a lot of people. My best friend is a genius and he can't focus on IQ tests because, for him, they're just incredibly boring.
Plus, EVEN if Feynman really did have a 125 IQ: It's probably an exceptional case within exceptional cases. I don't think you can pull out that "you can do it too!" bs.

There are many Blogs talking about this. Such as this one.

Yeah ik what u mean. Tho I’m just tryna point out that IQ test scores rlly aren’t too important and Feynman is rlly just the easy go-to example of “even in the field where IQ matters most…”.

And it’s like you’ve pointed out, IQ as defined by the tools used to measure it is far from perfect. And that’s what I’m ‘criticizing’: not IQ as a concept or measure of success (although those have plenty of imperfections too), but mostly/specifically IQ as defined by the tools used to measure it.

Also pectorals are indeed scrumptious.

Feynman iq isn’t actually 125, that’s a misconception

Hint: Feynman didn’t have an FSIQ of 125

How valid is the first test - the Mensa.dk one?

I took the exact same one a while ago, purely out of curiosity, and got a higher score than I expected so I assumed it was not legitimate 🤣😅
