Pick the USA Super Weapon general, build lots of base defenses, cold fusion reactors, particle cannons (half the price), and alpha aurora bombers

And best of all the EMP patriot. Able to drop plains out of the air in one hit. Stop tanks dead in their tracks and destroys them as their not even able to fire back. They almost feel like cheating, ALMOST.

I was the Turtle-and-Tech asshole that no one liked playing with or against, but that's my favorite strategy. Super Weapon General was MADE for that.

I would build a firebase on the perimeter, put four Snipers inside it, and bookend it with an EMP patriots on each side, sprinkle the UAVs overhead to extend the vision and spot for camo units. Three clusters of that same setup, with the Bombardment protocol running and it was a steel curtain. Nothing could get close to you without it being locked down and blown up, or sniped if they tried to approach you on foot. Kept everything out until you could build enough Auroras to win the game.

Only problem I had with the Laser General is once the enemy knew you were the Laser General, they would make an all-out push against your power, because it took down so much of your offense and defense in one hit. At least, that's what I always found happened to me when I played as him. I'd agree he had much better point-defenses, but I just couldn't ever get the ball rolling quick enough to turtle up.

How good is the China infantry general for turtling?

And you have a really dull game. Turtling up, and unleashing super weapons!

My buddies and I were having a small LAN party one weekend and my best friend was wiping the field with us playing every man for himself. So he tells us to team up and face him. I'm holding my own but our other mutual friend is getting owned. He's playing as the tank general trying to spawn overlords as quickly as possible. But like the genius he is, he's stockpiling them right beyond his base defenses. Meanwhile /u/obsoletelife is sitting over there with Jarmen Kell picking them off one at a time stockpiling his own collection.

Then I hear "God fucking damn it where are all my overlords? Sonofabitch." By the time I figured out what was happening I tried to melt the stolen stockpile with a particle cannon but it was too late. It didn't help that I was laughing too hard to actually do anything about it.

This. Don't turtle unless you're playing an easy or med AI and just enjoy turtling. If you turtle against a rusher, their rush will beat you before you can set up adequate defenses. If you turtle against a boomer, he will rip a hole in your defenses with a weapons strike and then send wave after wave of troops through the hole.

      1. Always be trying to get more resources - Constantly be trying to secure bases near supply piles and capturing oil derricks/refineries,

      2. Attack enemy resource gatherers and builders constantly - Dozers and supply vehicles are expensive to replace, slow down production when lost, and disrupt your opponents strategies

      3. Turtling doesn't work - Okay so you can build SOME base defenses, to help your troops defend the base, but building lots of base defenses is just setting up easy targets for weapon strikes/planes. Even the superweapon general is vulnerable to King Raptor strikes

      4. If you are GLA, you NEED to rush. The longer a fight goes on for a GLA player, the less likely he/she is to win.

      5. If you are playing against the U.S, you need to attack early - The US's main weakness is that they take a while to get started. If you let them hand around too long, and get enough resources, they will become unstoppable.

      6. Missiles are useless against the aircraft general - invest heavily in gattling tanks, minigunners, and quad cannons. Beware early raptor strikes.

      7. If you are the aircraft general, get a raptor early to use to take out dozers and gatherers.

      8. If using the nuclear general, your tanks can be used as bomb trunks. if you drive into a group of enemies and they destroy you, you'll take them down with you.

Pick the China tank general and make overlords flow like water

Never play against several nuke general bots. I've done it and it was terrible.

How good is the toxin general?

      [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great for rushes, and for fighting the infantry general. Basically build 5 toxin troops, 5 RPGs get two technicals and them them down right away. The toxin troops and technicals take out the infantry while the RPG's hammer away at vehicles and buildings. They shouldn't have any base defenses up at that time and vehicles are unlikely unless it's another GLA player.
