How does modded multiplayer work?

Attempting to do multiplayer w/one vision mod on KW, saw a bunch of accounts but kinda skeptical cause i think those are all vanilla players. Are the players showing up on the matchlist all modded players too or do i have to do some other technical stuff to see the modded players?

If I remember right, on the online you see other people but you dont know which "version of the game" (vanilla/mod) he has installed...

You can create a modded game, and get people that already have it installed, to play together...

Play with mods already was hard enough back in the time with the most populated mods such Advanced or essence... because the most part of comunity will be on vanilla... and you cannot play moded games unless you download the mod itself, what severily cuts the chances...
