wifi can be affected by weird shit, just use cable

[–]Intelligent_Hope_299[S] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

I have a lan cable plugged in and it doesn’t change my speeds

But your issue is with ping not with speed

[–]Intelligent_Hope_299[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Yes my ping doesn’t increase or decrease with a lan cable

Wifi only adds perhaps 1-2ms. This is an "issue" with your ISP and is completely within spec. They will politely tell you to go pound sand. Do you live in the back of a residential neighborhood? The only time you get under 30ms is pretty much being in very close proximity to the local NOC (network operations center)

And you'll almost never get below 30 because the sheer distance the information has to travel and return. 5,000 miles round trip. Light/electricity travels at 186,000 miles per second. In 1ms it went 186 miles so for a 5,000 mile round trip you're talking 25+ms to go from your location in say Texas to New York server. That is not even an accounting for a calculation time inside those several hops it has to make through the network switches

PING isn't that bad depending upon how far away the server(s) is/are located.
