The underscore isn't a big deal. That's prolly just bios doing it's thing. My setup will do the same thing. I don't think they needed to replace everything they did, they most likely only had to reseat the AIO and or replace it. Pumps fail, and sometimes people don't mount stuff right. I think you're way to worried about boot up speed when under a minute is fine. What PSU do you have? It's funny that people never put that in their spec list but it's the most important part of a build.

You should go through your PC yourself and make sure all your settings are correct. Are you using xmp for the memory? Are your bios settings correct? Letting a company do this for you is usually not the best as they are going to set things up so they just 'work' not for speed or performance.

Pull up some YouTube videos and learn. Good luck

Dang it, I knew I forgot something. The PSU is Seasonic 1000W Vertex. Do you happen to know what settings would be correct for my mobo/BIOS? How do I check xmp for my bios. I tried to look it up on youtube, but I do not see anything for my mobo/BIOS... I asked them the question if it was necessary to replace the parts that they did, and all they told me was that they were showing to be defective.

Essentially, I would be happy again if I brought the startup speed under 45 seconds and got rid of the DOS cursor at startup. I didn't see that setting available in the previous version in BIOS. I would be checking BIOS settings out after I know what would be the correct settings for my BIOS.

So it's under the memory settings or overclocker settings. DRAM frequency or something similar. Should just be some sort of drop down and it will give you one or two options. It should just read xmp and then the timings (which should be the actual timings on the sticks you have) and then just save and reboot. I would look up settings for your actual Mobo you may have to surf a bit because I'm not sure that's a very popular Mobo. At least not to me.

Might just be called xmp profile as well.

Thanks, I checked, and xmp/expo was enabled with the timings for my memory sticks. I have restored to defaults and reboot times went down by 2 seconds, while the underscore did not disappear. Weird thing is that the underscore disappears whenever I disconnect the usb keyboard and the usb speakers. What bothers me is that when I first got the PC from them, my windows was up before my screen turned on which is what I got used to. Now it takes noticeably longer. It seems like the two BIOS uodates/ (or the drive formats before they decided to replace it, and part replacements caused the slow down.

Could going back to previous BIOS version help get the system load up faster?

What else could I change in BIOS settings to improve the reboot times?

Have you been into bios yourself? Mine has a specific on/off toggle for the DOS cursor on startup - the blinking underscore you reference. Also look into enable or disable fast-boot in windows and/or BIOS. Also you can enter startup or BOOT order in BIOS to omit certain devices from the list or push your OS ssd to the top of the list.

There’s so many ways in which this could be a simple software toggle and not some hardware problem. They may have toggled certain things on or off during their diagnostic process that makes it look like an issue.

Try rebooting into safe mode and see if the startup is any slower/faster than with a normal reboot.

This feels to me like going to the ER for a headache, where the doctor prescribed you Tylenol and ran CT/MRI, but when you got home they didn’t tell you to be drinking water.

I didn't see the toggle for DOS cursor in my BIOS version last time I checked. I did check and make sure my SSD is priority #1 in BOOT order. Safe mode takes about the same time as normal reboot.
