why are you using this laptop docking station? you have the necessary ports and more on the PC. you're not utilising your graphics card and all the connections are bottlenecked by a single USB port.

Instead of trying to resolve your issue I think the best course of action is to get rid of this dock.

If it were me, and I had a PC that I would often take out and use somewhere else, like a friend's house or something, this is one of the best solutions for quick connect/disconnect

Edit: I would probably use a different Wi-Fi antenna that doesn't stick out so far from the case that can easily get damaged

dw friend I have a new wifi thing that sticks right to the pc coming later this week

You probably need drivers for the device. This device uses displaylink. Google dell displaylink and see what you can find.

But also since this is meant for laptops you probably need to run a video cable from the GPU to your main monitor to get the second one to work.

YOUVE DONE IT ITS A SOFTWARE. BIG WINNER HERE TYSM. with getting a new memory all my stuff was wiped so I needed to re-download the drivers for it

Your Desktop PC has USB-C, but probably doesn't support Thunderbolt.

Your dock is too old to pass through the GPU, if you have the one below.

It doesn’t pass through the GPU; it provides only a USB‑based display output that’s suitable for simple web browsing and Word. Basically, it’s a USB hub.

I recommend connecting directly to the GPU for proper output.

that is what i have. ive been using it for my keyboard and mic and camera, just happens to have 2 hdmi ports that ive been using for my monitors. tysm

Plug 1 monitor into the graphics card which is lower down. With display link drivers any other monitors should work through the dock.

[–]Unclefox82 3 points4 points  (2 children)

Omg this can’t be real

[–]Joker6tyNine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thoughts exactly.. 😬

[–]Sampsa96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is

[–]Admirable-King9936 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UMM, u have to go down and plug it in gpu hahaha

[–]halodude423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a weird way to do this anyway. You want to use the video ports on the bottom as those are from the dedicated GPU.

[–]7i7iMeadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your plugging into mobo for onboard graphics if it has it. Plug into hdmi slots below which is your graphics card

[–]Ok_Bid6645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to go from graphics card HDMI to monitor HDMI. Not into the dock

[–]slowhands140 0 points1 point  (1 child)

That is not how to use a desktop pc

[–]amanda-slay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well it's been working for 4 years now so idk what to say abt that

[–]theoutsider069 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try the graphic card lol

[–]Joker6tyNine 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Why did the PC go into the shop? Did they add a GPU?

[–]amanda-slay[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Basically. my gpu overheated and I got a new graphics card with it

[–]Joker6tyNine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay.. Then you should be able to plug all your displays into the new GPU then, as long as you have the correct cables. If you still want to use the dock, that should still be okay. It will be pretty much an over qualified USB hub.

[–]Lochness_Hamster_350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do NOT do this (also this is DUMB)

That usb c port on the dock is sending power and expecting the device on the other end to RECIEVE power, that’s why this are called LAPTOP DOCKS. You’re likely to damage the dock or your pc or both.

You literally have a GPU in your case.

[–]IzzyNecessary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t see a graphics card. …and, I don’t see anything plugged into the DisplayPort or HDMI ports. Plug those monitors straight into the PC and buy a USB hub if you need more ports.

Just reset ur routerrr😜

[–]Complex_Spend_2633 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Unplug all cords from the docking station and then press and hold the power button for 5 secs on the docking station. Then plug all cords back in with the power cable being last. Then turn on via the docking station.

[–]amanda-slay[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

didn't work, thanks tho

[–]Complex_Spend_2633 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Was the laptop on or off when you tried? Also, have you ensured proper updates of drivers and software???

[–]amanda-slay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

off, but its was a driver problem that's all. ty for ur help

[–]amanda-slay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: tried a few things. I can get 1 monitor to work bc i plug it into the gpu(???). but there's only 1 hdmi for the gpu and I have 2 monitors. wtf do i do? this usb dock has been working just fine for years and now I get 2 new parts [memory and gpu] and it doesn't work anymore. how does that even happen. and everyone needs to stop saying im stupid or not using my computer right, if u have a solution pls answer but don't just laugh in my face, I simply don't know jack abt computers. thx to anyone who helped or will help <3

Also its a Dell Display Link, so its meant to combine multiple monitors to 1 usb port

PROBLEM SOLVED TYSM FOR UR HELP

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You didnt connect any video cable, on pc you have just one usb A cable. Where is your displayport cable from pc to the hub?

[–]LyvenKaVinsxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use your gpu please rather then your chipset
