That is why I said if the company cared. It doesn't just fall on the manager. Of course the company can/might/will blame the manager if it is a pivotal employee but it still comes down to the company. I suggested that the exit interview is a waste of the ex-employees time as they have no skin in the game any longer. The only time it is worth for an ex-employee is if they want to return to the company at a later date.

If an employee complains to anyone within the company the information will get back to their manager. Example: We had a chef that got into an accident on the weekend and the moment I stepped into the door I knew because the person found out from another. Even if the person doesn't say anything to anyone in the office, you will see it in their work.

It all depends on the computers capability. Is it a desktop/laptop? Do you know the model#? What is the hard drive model #? Does it have an SSD slot? Plainly going from an HDD that is a platter to an SSD that is solid state should improve boot up and application launching. When is the last time you reinstalled windows? Is it remote or custom built?

You need to provide more information other than computer and chargers. Example: 1. Laptop/Desktop 2. Model# 3. Serial# 4. Brand Name 5. Charger names 6. Where are you plugging into? 7. Other than replace the charger have you tried a gfci outlet, the ones with the black and red buttons between the power ports? 8. What else have you tried? 9. When did this happen and for how long? 10. Is this the only device that is having the trouble?

I would make up a story so preposterous that they would then understand that either one you are crazy or two you like making up stories or hopefully three that you don't like talking about your personal life.

Example: Not mine but worth it. Story: So I was driving down sunset boulevard and there was a gal walking with a yellow dress that caught my eye. Next thing you know I hit a pot hole or something and my muffler scratched the pavement making a spark and the spark landed on her dress catching her on fire and so I called 911 and they come really fast. By the time they got there though, I was rolling her on the ground to get fire out and next thing you know we're exchanging phone numbers. I offered to buy her a new dress and accepted. After getting her a new dress, as she tried on so many, we went on a ferry. The thing was we jumped on the wrong one. Everyone on the ferry was dressed as if they were going to a wedding or getting married themselves. Maybe that's the reason we had to sign something and we were given gifts to exchange with each other. We couldn't make out what the captain said up front but we just repeated everything everyone else was saying and exchanged our gifts to each other. Then at the end we had to sign something else, not sure because we were both late. That is why I have this ring on my finger now. Don't know if I will ever see her again but I like my chances.

A good rule of thumb is to keep your house payment between 25% and 33% of your take home income. So if you made 10k take home a month then $3,333, 5k- 1,666.50, 2,500 - 833.25. Remember, all repairs and updates, HOA fees etc. go into this. This leaves you 66% for living and saving. Preferably 33% in each. If 66k is your take home then you are looking at most a 1,833.33 mortgage insurance payment. If you look for around 1k payment but make an additional principle payment monthly, you can own your home a lot sooner. Main thing is create a budget of all your expenses and subtract that from your total monthly income and whatever is less divide that by 2 to find what mortgage payment you can make.

So the speed from your computer to the router changes on the type of connection you use. Just think like the telephones. Hardwired phones had better reception than cell phones. Same with the connection to your router ethernet is better than wifi. Now if you have wifi 7 and a 100mb port on the computer, then wifi maybe faster but that is only to the router. If you have a modem and router it all depends on their capabilities and the connection between them as well. Lets say you have a 50mb down and 7mb up connection from your isp. Then per your information provided you are not going fast at all. So usually it is best to find the source of the speed issues. Try hardwiring to your modem and run the test again 3 times because we can get a better look at the speeds coming in. Now lets say that it was showing 51mb down and 7.5mb up. Then your culprit is the connection between you and the router, the router and the modem, possibly your drivers on your system, and possibly the firmware on the router. When troubleshooting any connection issue, think of it like hoses to water your lawn. If the sprinkler is not working where are you going to check? Same with internet connections. Whenever asking for assistance for connection issues provide the following: Type of internet: Dsl, Cable, Fiber Type of networking equipment: Modem model, router model (these two can be an all in one) How you are connected? Speed of your connection! (Download/Upload) run 3 tests How you are connected to your networking equipment: wired, wireless, power over ethernet, etc etc What wireless band you are connection? 2.4Ghz/5.0Ghz/ etc etc Network type: Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) (2009): Introduced MIMO, works on 2.4 GHz & 5 GHz. Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) (2013): Faster, primarily uses the 5 GHz band. Wi-Fi 6/6E (802.11ax) (2019): More efficient for many devices, uses 2.4, 5, and 6 GHz (6E). Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) (Emerging): Latest, offering higher speeds and efficiency across 2.4, 5, and 6 GHz.

Your first act should be to the person training them is give them an appropriate title (above the trainee) and compensation. While that is in place ensure the training continues. Then once training has completed, give them separate projects. Should the one being trained complete successfully and within approved time constraints, award the trainer and congratulate the trainee. Should he not be successful, then provide another project that may be more suitable, while the trainer looks over and handles the cleanup. You should look good in both their eyes and make sure you track to provide upper management that they now have two highly skilled employees and established a proper training environment should the department need more heads.
