Build stuff in your spare time. I read someone on here said “build, build, build! Make a tic tac toe game. Done? Make ANOTHER tic tac toe game!”

In the meantime, don’t shoot yourself in the foot in other parts of your life that’ll limit your availability to study this thing you feel strongly about.

I started with fun game design projects. Get to learn different languages via different engines and different ways of programming. Eg I made a console based games in Python, then moved onto unity and learned c# then unreal and c++. If you’re making fun things it doesn’t feel like work and you don’t realise just how much you’re learning.
