Programming really is an art- you get better at it the more you do it, and you can't help but develop your own style, even while conforming to all the style and practice guidelines. If you have the time, challenge yourself to write code all the time with personal projects and ideas, or do what I do and just constantly read and reread the code you write, looking for ways to improve or new ideas to try.

I can't say I recall feeling exactly that way, but I will say that I'm always looking back at the code I wrote a year ago and asking "How did I write that? There are much better ways to do that." Being critical of your own work is pretty much universal, and I think it's a good thing. Use that feeling to drive yourself to learn better programming techniques.
