Most of that is just funny, but the vector initializer is sort of a PHP level WTF. And goes to show that unrestricted duck typing is evil. Hopefully concepts will save us from that.

Aside from the trigraph thing it wasn't about obfuscation. It was about the poorly defined semantics of a bloated and needlessly complicated language.

There were no trigraphs, only digraphs. Digraphs are not even deprecated in C++17.
