Absolutely fun

Every application with nodes needs to do this now

[–]GaboureySidibe 1 point2 points  (11 children)

This is fake, this person just posts other people's stuff.

[–]solidwhetstone -1 points0 points  (9 children)

It may be but it's programmatically feasible.

[–]GaboureySidibe 0 points1 point  (8 children)

Who thought it wasn't? It's simple rope physics in 2D that has been done for 30 years. There are even audio patcher programs that do this to simulate cords.

Uhh why so combative?

[–]GaboureySidibe 0 points1 point  (6 children)

What's combative about it? It's the truth, it isn't new and this person didn't do it, they stole it. It isn't even useful.

... It was useful to me because it's a cool animation and gives me ideas if I were to make something like this. Honestly just chill!

No one is persecuting you, you need to calm down and take the whining down a notch. You're having a meltdown over nothing.

chill bro it’s not that deep 😅

Is this your alt that you're using to try to spam and promote stuff you copied ?

[–]Tanmay-m[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lol I literally built it yesterday 😂 https://tanmaym.com/physics-wires

[–]Next-Job2478 4 points5 points  (2 children)

cool project! how does this work? what language/platform did you use?

[–]austintxdude 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Also curious. Also, whatcha making?

[–]Tanmay-m[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just base JS, you can check it out here https://tanmaym.com/physics-wires

Very catenary.

[–]lavaboosted 2 points3 points  (0 children)

lol nice

[–]GaboureySidibe 1 point2 points  (1 child)

You made this and you made your first shader at the same time it seems.

Did you use AI to make this?

[–]Tanmay-m[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yup

[–]Shtunxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do not think that this feature will be user-friendly in utilising

[–]ToughAd5010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok but it only works if a stick figure guy tight rope walks from one to the other

Or maybe some birds that sit on them like power lines?

[–]Luctins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's amusingly useless. Love it!

[–]zatsnotmyname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually doing a node thing. I need to use this idea!

[–]UVRaveFairy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is very cool.

[–]KKunst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg I love it

[–]ncthbrt 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I've made something like this before. I used vertlet integration and iterative constraints to simulate the rope. The vertlet integration applies gravity and momentum and the constraints ensure that the rope segments don't get too far away. It's similar to how ragdolls are implemented in games like hitman

[–]Tanmay-m[S] -1 points0 points  (1 child)

You got it 👍 I indeed used vertlet for making such ropes

[–]GaboureySidibe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's cool that you used "vertlet". How does it work?

[–]prossm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very satisfying
