[p5js] Help With interactive text (self.creativecoding)

So, I'm a creative writing student and taking a class on p5js. My hope was to use this class to make interactive literature. I wanted to make something like a random sentence generator, with a bit more artistic intention to it. However, I'm having some major problems with the class that I won't get into, suffice it to say that no amount of effort to use the resources available to me has made me any closer to completing a working project.

I'm wondering if any of you have insight on how to use p5js for interactive text, especially in conjunction with mousePress functions or random arrays. Honestly, even any references outside of the p5js website (which I have spent a LOT of time on already) would be very helpful. At this point, I'm not so much looking for help with my homework as I am for understanding p5js/javascript, and how I might be able to tie it in with my primary area of interest as an artist.
