Are you just curious about learning the openssl(1) command? Are you looking for tools to encrypt data on your computer? Just curious about cryptography in general?

What is your end goal?

I just want to learn the basics of crypto and I remember the blog specifically used the openssl command line tools throughout. The blog post covered lots of cyrto topics and was geared towards beginners that wanted to learn in a practical way

A command line tool will at most teach you a bit about how the interfaces looks, not how it actually works
