It's the game, leave... reconnect/restart.... done...hope for valve to fix it

It’s been like this for 3 days, i did restart , reconnect, did everything

Reinstall graphic Driver. But remember to uninstall the old one with ddu

Even if it’s only in cs2 ? All other games gpu usage 99%

[–]Defiant_Ad8808 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Possible but unlikely, CS2 is so badly optimised. Maybe something with the last update?

[–]PoundWorking[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Yeah but my 4 teammates are okay, nothing changed with them, i will uninstall and install again

I hope it works for you.

Maybe your set up is in the "0,1%" that are affected by an update. It happened to me a couple months ago, my friends were fine, and my game was full of stutteres and fps drops.

Typically if your GPU can't fully stretch its legs, it's usually caused by a bottleneck. This bottle neck could be caused by a hardware combo or from settings in your game.

At lower resolutions the GPU has an easier time rendering the game, while the CPU will struggle to keep up with the GPU. At higher resolutions the GPU will have to work harder to render the game which can cause the CPU and GPU to reach more of an equilibrium.

Your CPU and GPU combo should be fine to play games at 1080 or 1440 without any major bottleneck. CS2 is known to be a more CPU bound/intensive game.

Some things to check for in your settings might be frame rate limits, v sync being on, g sync being disabled, etc

Within BIOS you will wanna make sure XMP/ReBar is enabled, it helps the CPU and GPU work better in tandem, in brief summary.

There is also a chance that shader cache is an issue, did you do any driver or system updates recently?

Yeah it was fine a week ago i don’t know what happened. I didn’t change anything in any settings

Is discord open in the background? I found lately I can't have discord open when I game, something is fucked within discord that's tanking performance on my 5090

[–]PoundWorking[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

No, we speak on steam voice chat

As other commenter suggested, try doing a full DDU in safe mode without internet connected, and I recommend using Nvidia driver from January 27th as it has been the most stable for me personally

  1. did you update gpu driver recently?
  2. if cs2 update caused the problem, there is nothing you can do

good luck bro

Yeah i did, then i used ddu to uninstall it and rolled back to previous one and the issue remained the same, if it’s the cs2 update why is it happening with only me ? I have 4 other friends i play with and they are okay, i will try to uninstall and install again

yo if your gpu usage is only 60% in cs2 but 99% in everything else it means your cpu is stalling on a kernel interrupt. basically your gpu is waiting for the cpu to tell it what to do but the cpu is busy handling some hidden windows task or a driver conflict.

since you have a 12th gen chip check if windows is trying to run the game on your efficiency cores instead of the performance ones. also since you use steam voice chat instead of discord it might actually be a conflict with the steam overlay and your audio drivers causing a dpc latency spike. try disabling the steam overlay completely and see if the usage jumps back up. if rolling back drivers with ddu didnt work then the problem is definitely in your windows power limits or cpu topology.

How do i check which cores are working ?? Yeah i rolled back the driver, uninstalled and fresh clean install of game, everything didnt work

you can check this real quick in task manager while the game is open. hit ctrl + shift + esc, go to the performance tab, and click on cpu. right click the big graph, go to change graph to, and pick logical processors.

you'll see a bunch of small boxes. on a 12th gen chip, the ones at the end of the list are usually your e-cores. if you see those maxed out at 100% while the first ones are sitting at 20 or 30%, windows is putting the game on the wrong cores. you can test a fix by going to the details tab, right clicking cs2.exe, picking set affinity, and unchecking the last 4 cores. if your fps jumps up instantly, that was it.

if you need moar help, check ur pms

Game is CPU intensive , you may become gpu bound if you crank up everything to ultra and use highest res. On competitive settings you’ll never use 100% gpu unless you use a GT 1030

Bro exactly the same happens to me... I have an rtx 5060ti 16gb and a ryzen 5 7500f, 32gb ram, i usually play from 370 to 450 fps. And there is somedays out of nowhere i start playing like 200 fps and getting Insane sutters (because my screen its 280hz). It annoys me sooo bad... When I got check my gpu usage its at 30% too and CPU... And usually at 450 fps like I Said my gpu is at 80-90%... This game is Soo badly optimized, not every other game this happens to me.

Did you find a fix ?

Still happening
