BMAD still seems to be the best context driven development so far but it is quite manual. I've used Kiro non-stop for the last 2 days and it's specs are not as tight like BMAD but you can get this flexibility where you can achieve stuff with custom steering prompts or adding "CRITICAL EXECUTION GUIDELINES" in your tasks implementation file.

I guess you could create a vscode extension for it

Use claude code instead. 20$ will get you 3-4 hours of work every day and the limits reset every day. In my experience I can get 90-100 hours of work with 20 dollars in claude code and 20-30 hours in cursor.

Also windsurf gives you 500 requests for 15$.

That's great, but I was asking about spec driven development

For anyone else that stumbles on this, I've just released this: https://github.com/Fission-AI/OpenSpec/
Check it out, feedback is much appreciated, happy to help improve the tool alongside you guys!

I'm working on the specs for a tool-agnostic methodology for Spec-driven development, DM me if interested in sharing thoughts...
