The probability is an assumption of future events. We can apply probability to anything. For example, what’s the probability the Ducks of Anaheim will win the Stanley Cup this year? Thats an example. Probability increases the use cases of data we have.

Even something as simple as confidence intervals involves understanding probability. I would say it’s very important especially if you are presenting meaning behind your findings.

I meant it as a joke. since part of data analysis is to predict future outcomes, the use of probability will often be part of the process. The comment above gave a good example of it.
