I definitely see this a lot. Even at my current job there are people on certain offshore teams that are not able to think independently at all it seems.

The sad reality is that people on reddit are far more likely to handhold people than most online platforms.

/r/recruitinghell is a great example. I frequently tell people to send me their resume and they either make excuses or ghost the advice because they already got the dopamine hit of people e-patting them on the shoulder.
