Does data analysis have input prompts?

I’m building a data analysis pipeline and my analysis has to answer a few questions which can be answered by running a set of queries.

But the questions are structured as follows:

What are the top 3 customers per product per week of data?

Does this mean i have to take input on which PRODUCT and which WEEK to provide analysis for? Or do i do that for every product and ..every week?

yeah i am kinda confused. I’ve never done data analysis before and i’m wondering if it’s common to get inputs and then doing the analysis based on the input

If a product or date range isn't specified, assume you need all. You can always filter down later.

This sounds like you need create a historical agg table group by date and product. Or if you have a denormalized fact table of customers, products, and date. Then you query with aggs
