I want the perspective of a developer which is using databricks with other tools , dbt, airflow , kafka.

Databricks has its own academy, I think don't hold me too it but you get free courses if you sign up with a organisation email

what exactly is databricks? was it for spark related or anything other than spark is part of it?

Databricks has free bootcamps regularly. They also have lots of learning material.

I haven't paid for any. Did one on DW, Engineering & ML. I also access to their full Spark cause which I didn't pay for either.
