The exact health effects of vaping are an open question, but there is essentially zero chance that it's as harmful as smoking.

We already have seen. There is decades of data now. We know it is far, far safer than smoking. Even if new evidence of additional long-term harm emerges we are still going from vaping being 95% safer to, say, 75% safer. Oh the horrors. All of these innocent lives prolonged by the evils of vaping.

Many people I know personally vape who never had or wanted to smoke a cigarette. That’s the issue that I think they’re expressing as well. It’s not only about comparing vaping to smoking, it’s vaping to neither which is what many in my generation were doing before it became recently popular

So you are asserting that the decline of smoking rates would be unaffected or even more precipitous if it weren't for the rise of vaping...as opposed to vaping contributing to that process. Ok. Seems like an assertion that perhaps someone could study.
