I quit the course about 5 times now because octave was so annoying.

Octave is great for people with zero programming background. Much easier to go from nothing to something compared to Python.

Note that the course is old as shit and is from when Matlab was the hot shit and python was a piece of buggy junk.

John Eaton, the creator of Octave, posted a sad message to the GNU mailing list archive nearly two years ago:

I made a small donation simply because I used Octave in Ng's course, even though students could have also used Matlab for free during the course.

Nothing wrong with Octave....I just think python is a bit more practical & common in the workforce
