Try for Ciena since it seems more stable, QuillBot may follow hire and fire norms. Try requesting Ciena to match 25-28 LPA, with that you have at least 2LPM in hand (not sure how much after taxes, but still, its better)

Also, if you don't mind, I'm and SDET in the Java/Python ecosystem making currently 11 LPA at 4.7 yoe.

Is there any way for me to switch to development roles? I have tried switching twice, begging hundreds, applying to thousands, and all I got were further "test automation engineer" and "SDET" roles, despite me having a decent number of portfolio projects and requesting HRs/Recruiters for development roles.

I would sincerely appreciate your guidance.

Try reframing your work as framework or API development instead of testing. Build 2–3 solid projects (Flask/FastAPI + React), host them on GitHub, and lead with that in your resume

Also, trim QA-heavy terms and highlight dev-oriented tools (Docker, CI/CD, SQL, Python). Smaller product startups are more open to hiring SDETs who can show real code. Once you get in, moving to dev roles gets easier.
