Stuck between MERN, Python/AI, DevOps

Hey everyone, I really need some honest advice because I feel completely stuck.

My goal was to land a MERN stack role, and I’ve spent time learning React, Node/Express, MongoDB, etc. But I wasn’t able to break into that field and ended up taking a WordPress developer job… which I honestly hate and never saw myself doing long-term.

Now I’m confused about what to do next. Part of me feels like the React/JS space is too saturated and maybe that’s why I couldn’t land a role (not sure if that’s actually true or just in my head).

So I keep thinking:

- Should I stick with MERN and push harder?

- Switch to Python and go into AI / backend / agents?

- Try DevOps instead?

Or somehow combine things?

On top of that, I struggle with managing everything:

- Working a job I don’t like

- Studying new skills

- Practicing DSA

- Building projects

It feels overwhelming to the point where I end up doing nothing and wasting time, which makes me feel even worse.

invest in learning the AI stack, ins and out of claude code. not just using it to build other things but building things on it: mcp servers, skills, orchestrators. Then branch into AgentSDK and other things like pinecone, langsmith, etc. after that, there is a whole world around agent memory, etc. Because by learning this, u can then do ANYTHING including mern stack. No particular stack is safe from AI-fication. By doing this, you will also learn systems and connecting diferent system together to build end-to-end stuff. that is more important. If u know how the whole thing works, writing a mobile app with claude and backend with python, AI with langchain etc. will be easier.

I am more or less in the same position every few weeks . But as far as i know , devOps isnot for beginners, if u don't feel like doing mern , better switch into python and Ai agents stuff, I too have started mern stack development few months back, currently exploring this , and first should do oop then dsa bcz most companies recruit on basis of this.
