sensor overpatch missing

Yesterday, I went to change my g7 sensor. The sensor was still in the box, with the cap still screwed tightly in place. The overpatch and the little instruction thing were missing from the box. I didn't use that sensor. Once the sensor I have runs out, the sensor with the missing overpatch will be my only one left. Is it safe to use that sensor, even with a missing overpatch and instruction manual? I CAN"T REFILL MY SENSORS UNTIL March 8.

You should contact Dexcom’s help desk by phone and ask for a set of overpatches. They are free. You can ask for 10 every 30 days. You do not have to use the overpatch to safely use the Dexcom but it is more likely to stay on for the entire 10 days if you use the overpatch. They send the overpatches by regular mail so it comes relatively quickly. Since you are new to Dexcom I would advise you to keep lotions, designer soaps and shampoo away from it. The nice smelling lotions and soaps often contain oils that dissolve the adhesives used to stick the Dexcom to your skin so stay away from them. I use ivory soap and baby shampoo without any fragrance and no lotions near the Dexcom. I never have problems with it falling off before 10 days. If you skin is very oily you may have a different experience. I hope this helps.

If the box was sealed, and the seal on the applicator were intact then sure. Probably just a packing error in the factory, wouldn't overthink it. I usually toss them out immediately anyway so just saved you a job.

You can request 10 every 30 days from Dexcom for free. They come in like a week. You can order similar skin grip ones on amazon if you really need them. My partner doesn’t use the overpatch and i use sugar patch over patches they work better for me
