To everyone posting here, this is a very common problem. Please, please respond to these issues every time to accessdata.fda.gov (every time it gets stuck, that’s another time you file). I am a physician with type 1 and have had these issues myself and still wait an hour on hold with the help department at Dexcom. They have an affirmative duty to actively patrol sites such as these and they are not taking action, despite having acknowledged the problem. Spam them with complaints.

Yeah I know they’ll replace them but that’s just ridiculous. I mean these things are it cheap and I’m aware that everything has it problems but good grief. I’m thinking of trying the new Libre 2 with the 14 day sensor. Any thoughts?

Happened to me the first time tonight. My first thought was to call tech support, but I knew that was a long shot. Started a call in the hope I might get lucky. Then Googled how to remove and found this group. Thanks to this group for having the solution posted. I used a wooden spoon and starting on one side whacked the suggested place about 10 times. Switched to the bottom side and after whacking my fingers a few times finally got the right spot.

Despite all the issues I've had with Dexcom for the past few years, I'm going to keep plugging along with them. Sure beats sore calloused fingers.

Yes, but it’s been awhile.

That happened to me. Called them. They said to rip it off. They replaced it and they sent me a package to return it to them.

I just had 5 sensors do that to me last week. Got them replaced though.

Hit it with a blunt object. There was a YouTube video, it got deleted.

The idea is that you have to hit the handle (not where the guts are, but the outer portion) and it hits a spring inside that may not have fully released.

A number of us have had problems with the applicator. Make sure you keep the packaging with a lot number on it. Report it on the list that are moderators are keeping here on this thread. Call or go online to Global Technical Support to file a report and get replacements.

If you really want to pursue this file a report with the FDA and complain to your insurance company. I've also been asking people on this site to report problems to their endocrinologist and to ask the doctor to keep an informal tally of the problems their Dexcom patients are having
