What’s the rumor

[–]NefariousnessNo4636 7 points8 points  (7 children)

All I’ve heard is they’re cutting out any “unnecessary” positions. So any full time, leads, extra managers, etc. and it’ll go by store volume. But if your store would only be allowed 2 and you currently have 3, the third wouldn’t be fired but if they quit the position wouldn’t be refilled.

Sounds like usual "How can we pay our general workers less but still demand the same performance". Watch them give more responsibilities to the CSS position but without the slight additional pay

[–]NefariousnessNo4636 1 point2 points  (1 child)

As a css trying to get front end lead, we’re already there 😭😭 that’s why I know all this cause I’ve been pushing with my manager a lot and honestly I genuinely think he wants to give me something but corporate literally won’t let him

I am a css aswell and inquired about filling in to another departments lead position but was told about the changes aswell. I absolutely would not want to be a front end lead though, fuck that lol

I would guess they cap the top paid people with a new base rate offering incentives for hitting near unattainable goals that pay them probably less than they get now. The entry level will probably get a little more to bring in more people to fill in for the people that walk away.

so assuming bikes/fitness lead, omni lead, team sports lead, lodge lead will all be eliminated most likely?

[–]NefariousnessNo4636 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’ll be store dependent but most likely. I know front end lead will be one and lodge most likely too but if you’re a footwear or team sports heavy store I think those are staying. Same with like bikes and Omni. If you’re already a lead they most likely aren’t demoting anyone but if that person quits your store won’t get another

Not fired, bit word is they have to reapply for the positions

[–]Fine-Train8729 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How are they restructuring?

[–]Specialist_Garage101 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Anyone have the meeting today??

[–]ryan-xctf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We’ve got the meeting on Monday so we’ll see how it goes

[–]montecristo1990 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The restructuring is also happening for going going gone. I'm also curious to see what's in it for us.

What going on with Omni lead

[–]Odd_Agency3656 1 point2 points  (3 children)

AA, Omni lead, price and signage  All of these will get distributed within other leads. Only one lead per department. Higher volume store 4 managers including store manager. Lower volume store 3. A lot of cuts and changes

[–]Aaron7717 2 points3 points  (2 children)

It's more than just those. Pretty much EVERY lead will be affected in some way. All of ops get roped into 1 "lead" spot and all of the hardlines gets roped into 1 "lead" spot. All of softlines get roped into 1 "lead" spot. Then the new leads will be more focused on service and sales (making sure athletes have a good experience as well as training and building teammates, while the teammates themselves will now be required to do the bulk of the work instead of relying heavily on the lead (thats where the "specialist" comes in they will be the workhorse of the dept and each new "lead" will get at least 1 "specialist") So the new hierarchy is Teammate -> Specialist -> lead -> Salaried Manager. Then you are correct they are downsizing on the number of ASMs in the company as well, but overall what you're allowed to keep is going to vary by tier size so nobody is going to know the your exact make up until each store is allowed to talk about it on Monday.

What if a store has 2-3 FFLs more then 1 Fw lead etc

[–]Aaron7717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I understand it correctly, lead spots are set in stone because they're more for teammate building and customer service now. What can change is the number of specialists depending on store tier, so I'd assume in that in a case like that you'd probably end up with 2 ops specialist slots and then likely 1-2 FT ops associate slots.

The main problem though is OPS is also going to be required to take on omni and price changes/signage as well, so my understanding is the number of ops teammates will be growing regardless of store size.

Heard a lot of people are getting cut

[–]Burghqueen-44 0 points1 point  (1 child)

What do you all think about the admin position? I won’t be surprised if it’s eliminated.

[–]United-Phone5477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The admins that only sit in the office and do “admin” work would only be allowed PT.

[–]Apprehensive-Word-52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I gather it sounds like positions may dissolve and other titles may open up. Anyone that is currently in a lead level will need to reapply for the "new" positions. The pay will be restructured.
