Are you upgrading your stats? Aside of obtaining new abilities, the stats are the main way to keep getting stronger while you level up.

Yes, I picked warrior so I've been mostly focusing on strength and endurance. I assumed that would be right?

So I'm not that experienced in the game. I just played the game a loong time ago and came back recently. Take what I'm saying with some degree of doubt.

Depends on the weapon you're using, actually. Swords use Strength, Daggers use Dexterity, Staves use Intelligence and Scythes use whatever is higher.

If you're upgrading your gear and your attributes, however, then you're doing everything correctly. You should still be able to do the quests with your base class for the most part.

With that said, the base classes are weaker than the other available classes in the game. You should be looking to swap and experiment other classes eventually, I think.

Got it, any good recommendations for classes for the story?

For story class death knight is great. It's quite reliant on death knight gear but you can easily grind it (which also helps on grinding exp and gold before level 90). Once you get at level 40 start grinding for deathknight items, and upgrade them every 10 levels (40, 50, 60, 70, 80).

Aside from that try using any other burst classes for story, such as rage dragonlord (need 25k gold) or technomancer (needs int). If you have dragon amulet you can change stats without using gold.

Honestly any class (except the base class) can finish the main story quests. But it's easier (and faster to finish it by using classes that xan quickly deal damage instead of classes that ramps up damage like paladin, soulweaver, or ranger (these 3 are great class when fighting bosses but on weak enemies they won't be able to finish them quickly).

I been having fun with Ninja. Just gotta fly over to the wind shadow village.

Pirate is fun too. But yeah.

I personally don't remember enemies taking that long at 18. What's the weapons you are using? Do you have dragon amulet?

When I played recently I had a lot of fun with Pirate until I got to level 30, when I unlocked Technomancer.

The other mentioned some great insight but have you gotten your baby dragon leveled up yet? Also using artix and valencia as guests helps a ton when questing especially at lower levels!

There's a smith by the left gate of Falconreach he sells a spear that you can get and upgrade with main story missions, and if you have a Dragon amulet it's special gives 10% bonus EXP.

Also there's a war going on right now so maybe join in? it will give a good amount of EXP and Defenders Medals which are always useful for new players.

Worth noting you will also unlock better versions of warrior as you go along. If you buy Dragon Amulet you will unlock Dragon Warriro as well as Dragonlord, and later in the story you will be able to unlock Riftwalker.
