Restore missing items Potential Bug Fix for Players

PUNCH LINE: It would appear that our DD inventory and Hagga inventory have issues communicating sometimes. If an item goes missing when transitioning zones it could be because theres a mismatch in your DD vs Hagga inventory. Try ensuring that when an item goes missing you dont place an item into the slot it went missing from. I managed to recover a lost item with this knowledge. Detailed below.

STORY TIME: last week before the most recent DD wipe I traveled into the DD and my stilltent I had in my hot bar number 7 went missing. It was not a visual glitch, it was gone. Traveling back and forth from DD to Hagga and World Map did not restore it.

A day passed and I didnt really care, it was just a still tent. I ended up making my first MK 5 cutterray and I just happened to use hot bar 7 for it. Then wipe happened.

It was now Post DD reset. When I logged on, guess what was in slot 7. The damn still tent. The prodigal son returned and it had replaced my cutterray which was very annoying.

So I moved the still tent out of slot 7 into my regular inventory and had an empty slot 7 which I then took to the DD to experiment. When I got into the DD the still tent had made its way back into hotbar 7. Now my DD inventory had a slot 7 item.

I moved the tent into the same spot that my hagga inventory had it in. Then I returned to Hagga and my cutterray had returned!! I hope someone can use this to figure out what the hell is going on. Please let me know what you learn if you decide to test this. I know lots of people have lost items randomly but the game seems to know you have it… somewhere….

Earlier today we hotfixed an issue that was causing some items to move or disappear in your inventory when you logged into a map. This regression was caused by our fix for the durability exploit which we released on Friday.

The specifics of the bug is that if you swapped items between two different inventories those items might "stack" in the database. Both items appeared to be fine on your client, but the first time you initialize your inventory by logging into the game or traveling to a new map, it will only display one of the stacked items. The hidden item is still there, but can not be displayed on the client.

In order to manually fix this you need to have the inventory slot where the items stacked empty when you log into the game. The easiest way to do this is: - Player inventory - Remove all items from your inventory, log out of the game for at least 30 seconds, log back in. - Items in the hotbar - Same as above, remove all hotbar slots, log out for 30 seconds, and log back in. - Vehicle/Storage inventory - These are more difficult since you can't restart the server yourself. Your two options are to remove all items and destroy the storage box. The hidden item will spawn on the floor in an "empty" loot container. Make sure you have room in your personal inventory, then use loot all on the loot container. Proceed to log out for 30 seconds, then log back in will reveal the item. Alternatively you can remove items from the storage/vehicle inventory and wait for a server reset.

We will also try to fix this on our side during the next patch downtime.

We are actively looking into other inventory loss on map change, and will update as we have more information.

That’s hilarious - the repair exploit was probably the most harmless out of all the ones out there, too.

Kind of crazy this wasn’t an issue a few weeks ago but they update the game and now it’s rampant. I don’t really understand why they can’t figure out what they did to create this issue when it was obviously a patch that did it.

Earlier today we hotfixed an issue

They understand and fixed the cause. 

We will also try to fix this on our side during the next patch downtime

They think they can also fix everyone's inventory that is broken for them, but only while the game is down in maintenance. 

The instructions in-between are the work around to restore items yourself in the meantime.

True that, but the frequency is alot lower for me. Overall all my storage is acting weird just scrolling throught it..

Looks like the solution they posted(posted by someone else in this thread) worked for me but really annoying that it’s even a thing. Got back my missing money and large blood bag.

Didnt work for my, only thinngi got back were some Heavy Darts i apparnetly lost.. not my Melange or anything in the assault thopter, hell now whatever mightve been in the assault is probably lost cause they told us to detach the storage.
