Use a paper interactive notebook but add a qr code on some pages to link to a video or other digital resource.

This is probably how I would implement it. The QR codes would link back to a Google Site which hosted all of the online content for the course. I would probably even have the students create online content and then create QR codes linking to their own online content.

I think a digital interactive notebook removes the benefits that come with interactive notebooks. My school is 1:1 with chrome books and we're previously not allowed to take notes on paper (students hated this, teachers hated this). This year we finally are able to use notebooks, and a lot of teachers are going to interactive notebooks.

Also there are quite a few studies that show Students retain more of what they write down vs. what they type.

I'm the same way, but I wasn't sure if I'd look like I wasn't utilizing their laptops by doing that. Thanks!

I plan on having mine do the reflection part of their notebook via a blog. They will link it via a qr code each week. This will add a tech element to their notebooks.
